Just curious if any of you folks have heard of Naughty Pines Fish Camp up in Ontario on the English River system?

Thanks,

Eds

ED let me guess. You won a free trip?
So did I last year. I have a friend (Thin Line)and his wife won a trip and she did go with her family.

Thin Line if your there tell Ed how the trip went.

You mean you guys won them too? What a surprise! Ya we have heard of them and I dont care much for their bussiness tactics. If I remember correctly they were very expensive even with 1 person going for free.
You can go someplace real nice for 1/2 of what they wanted.

Just want to know if it will be worth it. Already have Lake of the Woods trip in September and Vermillion Trip in late may or early June, not to mention a few on Mille Lacs.

For me it wasnt worth it. I can catch all the fish I want at Dogtooth, LOW, St.Louis River, Northern Lights Etc. for way less.

I went a few years ago after winning the "prestigious" drawing. I called the number and was congratulated for winning. I talked a buddy of mine into going and we went in early June. It is a really nice camp. The cabins are rustic but well-equipped. To make a long story short, there is a lot of water to fish and we caught quite a few, but we were travelling quite a ways to do it. We didn't use a guide because we couldn't afford it but that would have been a good idea the first day. In retrospect, I suppose they are smart telling people who put their names in the drawing that they won a free trip, but I don't know how ethical that is. I have been going elsewhere for half of what they charged. I wonder how many people that go to Naughty Pines pay the full price? I can't believe there are many. . .

Wow, and here I thought I had finally had a change of luck when they notified me that I had won,LOL. I called on it and you need a min. of 2 people and so I determineed that they are just doing a 1/2 price sale on a 2 person trip min., which I thought was still a little pricey. I could go and pay full price somewhere else and drive less than half the dist.

If it were not for this site how else would we know about the number of "free" trips.

OK, good trip but maybe a little pricey is what we've heard so far.

We may be on the verge of breaking forum policy.
Has anyone that put in for the drawing not gotten a "free' trip?

I had a good chuckle at a few of my buddies who won the next year and were pumped about it.

So any recomendations of places to go that may be closer to home. Its tempting to go fish Canada way up there but it is far and a bit costly.

Think I'm going to go for my first looper fishing experience this spring, so at least have that to look forward to.

Have you looked at any of the resorts that advertise here?

You can drive to Browns' Clearwater West Lodge. Good rates and lots of options to choose from.

Browns looks like a great place and you can even tent out if looking to save a few bucks, thanks for the info.

I'm thin lines wife. I was up there last year at the end of Aug. Went up there with 4 others. Had a great time. Was a little spendy. They only take American money. We were thinking about going back up there and getting an out post. The Green Door. Closer to the best fishing spot. It was 17 miles from camp site to end of chain of lakes.
