I have my house out on Merrifield bay...more slush out there today & a soft spot out in front of landing & more to the left side. Had to re-drill my holes and about 3"-4" of water came up...good thing I have it on blocks.

On a good note it did make a few more inches last few days...I measured 12.5" today (under my house)...was only 10" on saturday.

Fishing was slow missed a few...go to set it and pull the minnow right out of their mouth...only iced 2 eyes both were under 13"...fatheads on the rattle wheels were getting the hits. Nothing with the jig stick!

371 bay is a giant slush pool too. probably agood 8-10 inches of it. started out and then turned right around. if you can find some trails already down then you can probably get around. once I got off of the trails I sank down. mad

CMG you think I can make it out in my Jeep or is it still pretty slushy?

I was out there New Years Day and broke through the top layer with the Four wheeler. had to back up a few times and go forward a few times to get out.

I havent been out all week but drove out there this morning and for the most part its froze back up...just stick to the main drag a ways b4 you cut over...couple deeper snow drifts closer to shore.

We tried to move Todd's house, we ended up burying my Jeep up to the frame in slush, after spending an hour getting it unstuck we just pulled his house off the lake. It goes from solid to a foot or more of slush without any notice. It's alright if you stay on the main paths, but I don't want to fish by everyone else. Hopefully this deep freeze will firm things up a little bit.

found the walleye to be very cooperative in merrifield bay this weekend, the morning and evening bite. My 9 year old and I landed 13 total on saturday, kept 4 for dinner. were in 26 FOW and they bit shiners under the boober and jiggin spoons with minnow heads. i didn't think the ice was good enough for some of the vehicles out there, but to each their own, lot of white ice in top.

Thanks for the update 30incheyeguy! I drove down to the access and took a peak out there at all the houses/trucks and you are correct, there were some big rigs out there.

there is a ton of ice on the main lake. More ice in the main lake than the 371 bay. Had a really good Saturday evening bite.

Hello to All. There are a group of us heading up tomorrow after school to try out luck on the lake. We are staying with a guy who lives on Merrifield Bay so chances are we are going to stay close. With that said, is the ice good enough for travel with a full size truck? What are the snow conditions like? Is there anyone who is willing share an area or point us in the right direction on some panfish? We have a few spots marked from years past for eyes but would be more interested in the pannies this year.

Ice is good to go 15"+ where I am...travel is ok. Some big snow drifts out there from the blowing snow but most of the slush has froze up pretty good. Just stick to the main road straight out & once you get to all the houses out towards middle right there are 2 sunken islands with weed beds on top...try around there for crappies & occasional eye.
