I plan to come up to the Ottertail area the first week of June to do some walley and bass fishing. I would like to stay at a resort that has a boat ramp on site because I will be by myself and plan to fish multiple lakes each day. I was looking at Ottertail, Rush or Big Pine but really don't care which one I stay at. Any advice on lodging would be greatly appeciated. Also are there some smaller lakes in the area that are good bass lakes that you would suggest? Is there a bait shop in the area that you would recommend? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Ottertail Beach resort is a very nice place. Centrally located on OT and close to alot of other lakes. Cabins are clean and updated and about half of them have been totally remodeled. His access is nothing fancy, just the beach so smaller boats only. You are only a few miles from 2 other public ramps and if you want to stay on OT, you get a boat lift with cabin rental. Carrs bait and the C-store on the east end of OT have bait or else Bens in Battle lake or Perham would be your stops for bait.
Alot of bass lakes in the area. Pickeral has smallies and just about any lake with some shoreline weeds should have some bigmouths. I dont fish them but maybe someone here could help with the bass. Good luck
I would second Vacationland. Trevor has a nice setup there with live bait and store. We stop there and buy most of our bait when fishing ottertail. sometimes even hang around and have a cold one. he usually has a pretty good grasp on what's going on on the lake as well.
And yes, he has his own concrete ramp. think he mentioned that he just built a new cabin last year as well. nice place
