I'm heading up to Adrian's Resort over New Year's weekend with a group of buddies. This our group's first year making this trip and we have all heard great things about Adrian's....and we're all pretty anxious to get up there.

I wanted to start a thread of other groups that are staying/fishing out of Adrian's so we can get some fishing reports going. Sounds like these guys really try to put you on the fish so I would like to know how everyone is doing out there.

All reports are appreciated.....happy fishing....keep your stick on the ice

Its not just adrians. It is Wigwam, Riverbend, Wheelers point, sportsmans, and more. They all fish around the same general area. You go across the bay and pine island out onto the main lake. I would watch reports from some of the other resorts around wheelers point too. Its just a big bowl that you are fishing and the fish move around. Its not like they have top secret spots. Weather will affect you more than anything.

Yes there will be 100s of houses out off of Adrians road by then. I try to figure out what depth has been good and try to find some fresh ice to fish. Helps to be mobile as the fish arent always under your house every day.

Thanks for the tips boys. But, that stuff I already know. I'm wondering about daily fishing reports of people fishing in the area of those houses. I want to see how the bite is going to fluctuate in the next 2 weeks before we get up there.

Ice, I just got back yesterday from Adrians. We fish there houses for two days and did pretty good. First day we were in 23 ft. second we went out to 26.One day the early bite (7;15-9am) was great, the next day it was better around 10am. Ya just never know when the bit is on. Gold Jigs, Red Stop Signs, and plane White glow hooks. They have all the Jigs you could need right there. Im also going back up on the 28th so we might bumb into each other. Ice on the lake had from 10 t0 12 inches. Hope by next trip Im driving my truck out. Im thinking it will be fine, but thats there road, and there call. Total fis for 2 of us was around 70. Biggest EYE was 25, with lots of nice 14,15,17,and 18 ones we kept!!

On the other hand, great report onlyice....exactly the type of info. I was looking for, thank bud. When our group is out over New Years I will try to send up-to-date photos while we're out there.

One question.............do your cell phones work when your up there? I've been thinking about investing in a set of walkie talkies for our group if the cell service is spotty. Thanks in advance.

Keep sending those reports boys!

Verizon works decent within 5 miles of Pine Islandon my phone. At & T is much weaker if it works on the lake at all. At least that's the case with my iPad, which uses At & T cell signal.

We fished in Adrians' houses Dec. 11&12. 24' anything gold also pink frostee was good. 11-12" of good ice but lots of broken up stuff. Adrians' transported us. We'll be back there Dec. 26th to fish 27&28th. Annual trip for about 30 yrs.at the same resort. Last year at that time they weren't driving full size vehicles so they hauled us out. We're getting older so 4-wheelers and snowmobiles aren't so much fun. There are lots of nice keeper saugers & walleyes and tons of small ones to sort thru. Fishing was as good as we've ever had. We had the best luck on fatheads but had frozen shiners along too. Good luck! Stan C.

today out in the lake there was 13 1/2 to 14 1/2 inches. There are still scattered spots with less. The spot where I saw the last open water had 7 1/2 inches today. In the bay there was 9 3/4 to 11 1/2 inches. There is more on the trail in the bay but it is not ready for full size vehicles. The lake of the woods sheriff's department has restricted the bay to no full size vehicles. Some of the resorts may have to use a full size at times for certain puposes. As far as traffic on the road on the 26th we will be allowing small to mid size suv's and small trucks not pulling wheel houses. you can pull wheel houses with atv's and utv's. If your houses are to big for this you probably should not take them out yet anyway. I will let you know if anything changes. Be safe an have a merry christmas

We fished with LOWoutdoorsman off of Adrian's road and the fishing was pretty good. You can see the amateur video at http://hsoshow.com

Today out in the lake the ice was 16 to 18 inches. In the bay off to the side of the road it was 13 to 14 inches with alot more on the road. Tomorrow we are allowing 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks and pulling wheel houses up to 22 feet long. The road is plowed out to 5 miles past pine island. We do not recommend going out in the middle of the night because we are not out there to check for cracks on the road. This pertains more on a night with a significant cool down as these are the times when the ice shrinks and you get cracks on the roads.

I already posted my report from our group's trip this weekend but I just wanted to thank Brian and the rest of Adrian's staff for a fun weekend. Good people. The fishing was good for the most part and most of all we all had a blast...I'm sure we will be back again.

I fish out of Adrian's road. The fishing hasn't been crazy, as in we're not filling out every day we're up there. However, we're catching fish and we've managed to catch at least one slot fish every day we've been out. My friend landed a 20", 22", and a 29" on Thursday. We also caught a few keeper saugers. We also caught an 18" and 19" on Friday morning before we left to head home. We're in 34' of water. I'd go out on the road at least 7 miles past Pine Island and check your Navionics for 34 feet of water or deeper.

Just got back from Adrian's we fished Friday through this morning, 35' FOW, 300 yards past the end of the road fishing was extremely slow, between the two of us we caught 8 keeper saugers and 5 eyes in the slot. For those going out, 500 yards past the end of the road a pressure ridge popped up Saturday night it runs West to East as far as the eye can see another one opened up following the road for quite a ways so those with houses on the right side of the road may be in for a challenge. Road is currently out 13 miles from the island. Off road travel with a 4x4 is still possible but there is a layer of crust a few inches down that makes pulling a wheel house off road pretty sketchy be prepared to back up one in a while and bring a metal shovel not plastic. Only 3 fish came off jigs the others including all 5 slots ( 2-21", 1-22", 1-23", and 1-24" came off a deadline with a rainbow chub no hits on the shiners or fatheads.
