I can tell that everything is going crazy, because I've got a pile of texts this week from people asking about mushrooms they're finding, and my yard is full of interesting finds.

Hit the woods yesterday with the kids and wife and found a nice mix of edibles... Things are really going to start going now, raspberries will be ready soon, blueberries are already turning, and the chants and hedgehogs should pop shortly!

Let picking season get fired up!

Love me some wild rasberries. I ate like 6 handfuls the other day. Couldn't stop myself.

Nice! Those beauties got Jr and I out tonight ..... still have a little ways to go for our summer fun.

Did stumble across the first lobster of the season. Spotted it with my keen mushroom eye.....after I stepped on it smile Found my first few late last fall and by far one of my favorites. Still trying to dial in on them though.

One thing we make sure to pick regularly from spring on is bonus points for Mom wink

Nice work on the lobster! Mature too! Key is to find large flushings of russulas I suppose. Same areas year after year seem to hold them... I have a buddy in the Metro rubbing it in daily that he's already been finding lobsters, chanterelles, trumpets, etc... Up here I'm just waiting patiently. Only time you'll ever hear me say that living up north stinks... wink

Never heard back from you....I never got back to Jerkin'm....he has a real job(actually has to be there....or something like that).....Momma is making me spend a week at a resort with her and the kidlet the week after the 4th....looks like we might have to shoot for next year. Will have to start planning earlier...maybe if we start around x-mas we could hammer something out smile

I was wondering why I haven't heard back from you... I replied to your e-mail and never heard back. Could be in your junk folder? Or could be lost in the interwebz....

Was out for about an hour up north and checked some summer chicken spots, only to find I was too late. 3 nice big clusters that were all too far gone/white on top, still yellow on underside. Missed them by more than a week I'd say...

On a side note, berries are going nuts. Picked a pile of raspberries over the holiday as well as a pile of blueberries. Yes, a nice early crop. I'm nervous about the blueberry season to be honest, as they are going to pop sporadically it appears, instead of one huge crop at the end of July/beginning of Aug. like usual.

Need rain (not twisters).
