Anyone noticed the Political Ads on this Board. I thought this was fishing related site. Democrat or Republican I don't think this is a place for them..

I don't see how you'd draw the conclusion that a fishing website would have only ads about outdoors stuff. When you watch TV, you might be watching a show about hunting, fishing, a sitcom, or the news -- and you'll see ads about who knows what mixed in, including political ads.

If you really dislike political ads, feel free to find a site that has no advertising. And watch TV channels that have no advertising. And listen to radios that have no advertising. The fact is, almost any media that is brought to you free of charge (and also most that come with a monetary cost) is paid for at least in part by advertising, and it's not all going to be for products or services that you are particularly interested in. It's part of life.

These ads are asking for political donations and I really don't belong here. As for finding a different site like you proposed, I've been here since the start and have not seen anything like this before. You are entitled to your oppinion, just as am I.. They sure eliminate any other subjects from the site without regard.. Maybe Rick can not govern what the content of Ads running are.

I personally have never seen a political ad on this site. I believe you are refuring to the ad smart ads on the page that bring ads to the page based on the type of things you look at outside of this site. I for instance see a lot of ads pop up for curtains and drapery... Wonder what my wife has been up to.. If your getting hit up for campaign donations It would make sense that you or someone on your computer has been watching the campaign trail or things of political nature.

Yup! I was checking out warranties on a Duluth Pack billfold this morning. I'm guessing it's not a coincidence Duluth Pack ad is flashing on bottom of the page right now.

Yeah, I looked online for reloading brass, and now nextag is always on the bottom of the screen advertising "brass faucets"...

What I'm refering to is the Ad space on the left side of the page. Both Barack and Michelle Oboma have been there and asking if "Your in". If you "click there" they ask for a donation to their campagin. The other day Barack was asking for Questions that were to be submited to and be answered on You tube. I just think it's in bad taste for political ads and should not be on here. Otherwise we'll get the Republicans showing up too. We're getting enough on TV and Radio.. Let just stay with Ads for the great Sports of fishing and hunting and related subjects.

I too have noticed that some of the adds on the forum are related to wat a person has resaerched on the web. I wonder if I reasearch how to marinaid chicken breasts wat adds might pop up

My room mates girl friend is constantly using this computer for her porn site webcam sessions. I get lots of interesting and disgusting ads here now.

I partly agree with you Kaz, however the cost of doing business is going up to run sites like this and frankly, it is a personal choice to click on a link to Obama's agenda, it is not forced upon anyone. And no, I am far from a left winger,..lol
It is rare when I even have the time to paruse the ads on this site, however they are there for those who choose to look. Personally I don't think Rick is pushing any political agendas and if $$ outside the normal hunting and fising venue is what it takes to suppliment costs to keep this site the best on the net than I'm all for it. It isn't going to change my vote one iota..

Boar, with the mild winter we're having who knows what will happen this spring. Two years ago it came awfull early and the winter was much colder and a whole lot more snow than we're getting this year.

Ok, I know ads assist in keeping websites and great Forums like this going. But, when I opened this a short while ago on the very bottom was an ad to sign a petition supporting the UN small gun ban. It featured a picture of Ms. Hilary Clinton requesting you sign the petition.

Now, I didn't click it, not being a computer whiz I thought I might end up signing a petition I didn't wish to. But, a sort of, as I took, it anti gun ad on this Forum????? Next it will be anti fishing!

Maybe I missed something and was judging too early--but I look at the forum for hunting to see what the white geese are doing in the Spring. Guess we cannot shoot them with a firearm???

@Wahoo, the ad is telling us of the proposed ban and encouraging us to call our senators to tell them we dont want it, to oppose it!! I had to read it twice too, looks dif. than what it is...
