anyone fish Sunrise lake in "the lakes" development in Blaine

I was wondering if anyone knows where i can find maps and/or stocking reports for sunrise lake in the lakes development in Blaine. I have caught some panfish but i have heard accounts of walleyes bein caught from time to time, was wondering if anyone else had any knowledge or luck on the man made lake. Thanks

i dont know of the sunrise lake. a guy i worked with fished a small lake/pond a few miles north of the lakes around radison road. He pulled and 18 pound northern out of it. maybe a 10 acre lake. it was insane. So i wouldn't doubt anything.

I work in the lakes and have fished it the last 3 years. There are lots of smaller sunfish and crappies. Also a few largemouth. There are no maps, it was dug out so they could put full basements in the houses around it...it was all a sod field at one point. Stocking reports would be hard to come buy. It was originally stocked by the builder i work for when they developed it. A note to any who wants to venture out there, the ice is VERY unsafe. 3 kids have gone through this year on ice skates. It has many open areas from the springs that feed it...can open up in places any time in winter.

Yes the ice is very unsafe. I was out there last week ( caught a few small sunnies) and there was spots about every 20 yards where gas or springs were coming up and making about 10 foot by 10 foot holes in the ice. There is also a good amount of open water around some if the bridges. As for walleyes, I used to catch them there about 3 years ago but I haven't caught one since nor have I heard anyone catching any since about 2007

Went out again tonight after dark caught 6 crappies biggest 9 in nothin special bunch of bullheads and small sunnies in the mix as of unsafe ice you need to stay AWAY from any areas near bridges and as far as i have noticed there has been quite a bit of fishing around beach area...i was on 10 in of ice but wont venture off beaten path, a few small crappies isnt worth it

I live right there... went out on early ice, granted I didn't wander more than 20 yards from shore... the point of that night was more to see if I could work, ice fish, and play skyrim in the same day. (I could).

marked a bunch of smaller fish, had a really nice bite but never hooked into whatever it was.

I do go to the dock there to fly-fish about once a week in the summer. Catch plenty of 6" bluegills, that's for sure. I have heard reports of bass, pike, sunnies, n crappies.

Skinny version: If i didn't live within the lakes, I'd never fish it. Lots more lakes in the area that if you have more than an hour free you should fish. Especially considering the ice reports from the last two posters.

I hadn't heard of anyone falling through, were these recent incidents? Weekends?

I am moving there in March on the lake and would like to find out more information like how often is it stocked? I was wondering if it was apart of the dnr fin program. I see fish houses out there and I would like to try soon hope I can catch something on the lake.

Ice is so so. This is a spring fed lake so beware of open water spots, there are a lot of them this year.

I called the DNR last year and asked the same question and talked to a guy who knew what he was talking about. He worked for the FiN program (fishing in neighborhoods). They never put any fish in there. But I talked to Grahm builder and he told they put 4000 fish in there. I have seen sunfish, crappie, bass and bullhead. I heard walleye but have yet to see one.
