also the sandbars are leagle to hunt because the DNR goes by the High water mark now if your up out of the banks thats a differnt story
I would contact the local DNR officer regarding this. I talked to the DNR officer around Mankato (Chris Howe) a few weeks ago regarding this issue and was told that as soon as your feet are not wet anymore, you are trepassing. The law surrounding trespass in/around rivers is very vague and you can interpret the law many ways so I would call and see how the officer that will show up when there is a disagreement interprets it the way you do. I don't want to hijack this thread, just stating what I was told by my local CO.
