This Sunday from 1-3 is the annual Dark House Association Perch Jerk on Lake Bemidji. We need drillers to drill 2000 holes this year. If you have an hour or so on Sunday am please come down to the lake on the South Side and help us drill some holes. This event would not be an event without the volunteers that help out. Bring the kids in the afternoon to enjoy the day on the ice, maybe win a bike and other prizes that are available. The contest is FREE and there are tickets available at Gander, Tabers, Blue Water and on the ice. Each kid will receive a free meal and pop.

Hope to see you on the lake on Sunday! grin

Thanks for posting this woodman... We are currently evaluating the access situation for the location of the event. The Cameron Park access has melted to much and the Nymore access is on it's way to being flooded. Our two locations currently are still out in front of the Nymore access or Lake Irvine. We will determine the location Friday by noon. We currently need a few more volunteers for both hole drilling and during the event... This year we are anticapating on have 1400-1500 kids... WHAT A BLAST THIS WILL BE...

Beef, PM Joe. He will help you out.

You know I'll be there. Trying to recruit more drillers. I think next year we need to tap some of the Well Drilling businesses in town and have them drill holes and let it be known that was their donation... cool

So if we want to help drill holes we just show up Sunday AM? I'm on spring break so I really got nothing to do this weekend so I could come put the ole MagIII through its paces. Let me know the specifics if you could.

Pretty sure it's been moved to Lake Irving. You can bring your auger, but I know in the past, they were provided...

Yep, just show up around 8am. Strikemaster provides the augers for drilling the holes. The holes have to be 6 inches to prevent any kids from stepping in one and going down. And after 300-400 holes you'll be thankful they are 6 inchers vs. 8 or 10... grin

What a great day had by all today on Lake Irving! grin To me it seemed to be a record breaking year for turn out for families! We were drilling holes up to the start of the event. It was great to see all the families out enjoying the weather and outdoors. Lots of hoots when items were won, and lots of smiles! The fish were not on fire, and I didn't hear how many were caught in all. THere were some pigs caught and the day was AWSOME! Thanks for all the people who helped out at the event and A JOB WELL DONE! cool

Glad to hear everything went well today. I haven't moved much since getting home after hole drilling this morning, it was a little more of a workout than I thought it would be. Good to see mother nature cooperated for the event too.

Advil is your friend remember... grin I took some as soon as I got home this evening.

A great day to be out there, the drilling went pretty quick even though we had to tap a few more holes to get everyone in. Very good turnout and the weather couldn't have been any better.

Glad you mentioned the IceArmor bibs cause we were all huffin & puffin for air... sick

Woodman and I had Strikemaster bibs on, he was the ugly one. Our buddy Jeff had Strikemaster on too, he's the one expressing his thoughts on the current presidential administration. grin

Thanks for coming out and helping out Russ, it is very appreciated.
