Has anyone noticed an unusual trend for the night bite on the mud flats? Specifically, I have never gone without catching walleye between 7PM and 6AM when I set up on the very top edge of a mud flat --- except this year. I now have 3 nights in 3 different spots (albeit the same flat-that produces well during the day) with no bites at all in the night?? Seems odd.

I heard the same problem from a guy at the landing this past weekend. He stated that between him and a buddy in a different house that neither of them have caught a walleye after 7 pm this year. He said in the past they have always had a couple rattle reels go off in the middle of the night but he said it just isn't happening this year for whatever reason!!

I fished the lake 6 weekends straight this year and I caught a few between 8 and 10pm and had a huge one on at midnight one night but it has been slow overnight this year.
Eyebjim - thanks for posting. I am curious - the wally's you have caught between 8-10pm - are you jigging - or do you mean on dead sticks/rattle wheels?
