It looks like we've been blessed with one more weekend of walleye fishing on Island. We got almost an extra month of fishing this year. If this turns out to be it for the season, I won't complain.

Mark it looks like Sunday could be a wet one.

Yeah, I saw that but the wind looks doable. With high temps in the low 30s for the rest of the week Sunday may be it for the season.

you guys make me jealous still hitting island lake... oh the spots i would try if i had your time and proximity. fishing island ALLLLL summer long then moving to the cities for school really makes you miss island come fall.

i hope you guys slay a limit for me!

Slow but we caught a couple of slab crappies and a nice eye to finish the season. Jigging spoons with minnow heads in 39 fow. It took longer than it should have to dial them in. Basically ice fishing from the boat. But a good day on the water.

Hit Island for about 4 hours today. Got 6 walleyes in the 9" to 16" range and 2 boanus slabs. Kind of drizzly and foggy but all in all it was nice to be out fishing open water. Best bite was about 4pm. For some reason smaller chubs tail hooked worked best.

nice report northlander. i'm hoping to make it up to duluth next weekend for a day to fish and i'm thinking about hitting island or the river. docks are out at island right? how bout the river? i'd love to get out on island one last time for the year and to think i am gonna be able to do it over thanksgiving weekend is crazy!

No docks anyplace. If I were you I would hit Fish. Crappies and eyes should be prime. Ill be on Fish next Sunday if weather stays the way they say. Ill just hit my 1st ice spots and I should be golden.

Same weather up here. We are NOT making any ice. Sigh.

northlander, i think i am going to give fish lake a try. you are so right about the slab crappies and nice big fall walleyes... first ice spots huh? hopefully i can get on some fish
