ok fishgutz, well you know what my next question is.... Where in the heck is Island Lake at? How far away is it? If its further than 2 1/2 hours away from Fargo, then I'll just go to devils!

It's between DL and Park Rapids north of Hwy 34. It's about a 20 minute drive from DL.

Swiss cheese for sure!! Early ice is the best out there for slab action. Dang I can't wait, but in the mean time we'll definitely have to get out again.

Hit the lake while everyone was hunting on Saturday. My buddy caught this one with a wally diver. 27 inches long but the girth was a fat 17 inches. The pic doesn't do it justice. Of course we put her back. Weighed in on the digital scale at 9 pounds, 12 ounces. My buddies biggest walleye to date!

Awesome fish. I think I know that tree...just kidding.

If a person could find a better way to kill bugs, they would not only get rich, they'd probably get a lot more dates.

tried little and Big DL sunday. Nothing. Had 2 good musky follows but know hook ups. Caught 2 small perch and one 8" walleye under the bridge before I left. I then procedded to break my prop when my the power tilt failed and motor was locked down when I was trailering it. Not untill I got back to town when I discoverd that there is a release switch on trim/tilt pumps. Little late but found it none the less.

PS, who needs a dock? smile
(though I'll admit it does make it easier getting in and out of the boat.)

Fished Lida today. Went to Pelican to get bait because they had silver shiners a week and a half ago. None today, so I used small suckers in 18-23 feet of water. Had a few misses and got two walleyes in the boat. Over the years, there have been very few November 14ths I could fish in a boat. Kind of fun. Quit early due to rumors of a free supper and trip to the casino tonight.

Back to Lida today. 42.5 degrees water temp. Found walleyes in 27-30 fow on silver shiners. Very light biters.

Me and Fisherdog19 hit a small lake near my place, we punched a zillion holes in one area of the lake! We fished from 8 feet in the weeds, to 26 feet in no mans land and all we found was perch and a few pike.

I've had some luck on this lake late ice last year and during the summer. I know there are some slabs and walters in there but we had no luck last night. A different area of the lake will be fished next time, until I find out where they are hiding.

I had fun, and got to try out the Solo by Strikemaster, what a powerhead. That thing cut through like butter. 5" of ice is all we could find.

We'll for sure need to find them fish out there; it's not a huge lake so we should be able to find them. Next time we need a few more guys and a full day to swiss cheese the lake. They can't hide forever. I'll bring my camera as well.

Brian Brosdahl was trying to sell me a Solo headed auger at Gander the other day, and it took him about 17 pulls to get it started!! He got pretty flustered! Im sure they are darn nice, and it was just "flooded" I got a good chuckle out of it anyway.

First time out on the hardwater this evening. This was half of what we got. My buddy took the other half. Biggest one was 13.5. Forgot the camera so wasn't able to take pictures until I got home.

Eyeslayer, nice catch!!!! Looks like some 113 crappies to me!!

I caught 3 walleyes last night on an area lake. I fished my butt off for them though, I drilled holes all over a big feeding flat and some up against the drop along the weed edge in 12 feet of water.

I caught all of the fish up against the weeds about a half hour before dark.
