Anybody planning on being on the ice the weekend after thanksgiving or even on Thanksgiving? I bet some small lakes will have some walkable ice by the Saturday after Turkey day..

I am hoping to be out Thanksgiving weekend. Yesterday the forcast looked good but then they changed it again. So its not looking to good, but am sure it will cahnge again. I have my fingers crossed.
I doubt anyone in the lower 48 is out yet. Maybe a few people in higher elevations but not in the Midwest for sure. Looks like were looking at December "maybe".
of course, I, along with most of you guys WANT to get out. i'm not tryin to win any type of darwin award this year, and i hope non of you do the same. everyone remember to be smart and patient when it comes to the ice

Last year I saw Ice houses on Rush Lake when I was out hunting deer on Muzzleloader opener on Thanksgiving weekend. Couple years ago I remember Ice Fishing on North Lindstrom Lake on Thanksgiving Weekend as well. I remember back in the early to mid 80's is was not un-common to be out on the Ice on Thanksgiving weekend. For a few years it was hard to get on a lake before Christmas!!!
I live in Wyoming and in some of the upper elevations on the smaller ponds, they have been fishing for the last week. Too much hunting to do still anyway.

Wasn't that many years ago we used to drive out onto Red Lake and catch a few Walleyes the day after Thanksgiving!..... Or maybe it was too many years ago.
