My 2004 3.3L HPDI pushes my TR21 to 76 mph. It's very quick.

Just read an article on another website about the new Yammie motor. They had a picture of it as well and it looks very nice. They are teaming it with a new Skeeter model, the FX series - completely new design on the boat and custom made for the new motor. Completely loaded with hardly any upgrades needed on the boat or trailer because everything is standard. MSRP a hefty 69-70K depending on a 20 or 21 footer or a 225 or 250 HP motor. Ouch! Talked to a couple of pros who drove them and they are crazy over this boat and motor. Not too sure I'm crazy over the price.

You know it dude.. Love the Puma!!!!! The motor does look pretty sweet.. I havnt heard any real life numbers from this yet though to compare it really on any hull.. But its sure got a lot of buzz around it.
Did you actually think i would post the pict of the Skeeter when I could hit up the Cat?.. LOL

Never gave it a thought Deitz. That guy that I mentioned who works for Bass Cat drove the Puma with the 250 and said it ran 76mph with 2 guys, a full tank and a stock set up. He is sure 80mph could be reached with some tweaking with the prop and pad set up. As mentioned before, the Bullet with the 250 reached 88 mph and still had some left! Scary fast!

I just sold my 05 Ranger and I am thinking about a new boat this spring. My Ranger had a 225 HPDI and I had no problems with it. This new motor sounds really awesome!! A 4 stroke that get up on plane in a hurry, great top end, and no oil to mess with. I like the sound of it.
Hmmmmm.....

I'm still learning how to drive mine.. and I know BassCat are not the fastest hull out there. I did get 77mph with mine, 2 people 1/2 full of fuel, tournament loaded, which for me means 25+ rods and enough plastic to stock Gander Mountain.

Deitz, Isn't it funny how you always need more plastic? I swear the plastic alone in my boat would keep it from sinking. I don't believe other companies are getting nervous it's just that the EPA is going to force 2 strokes out of the market, they won't meet the requirements. Don't look for any new 2 strokes to be built in the next few years as thats the direction its going - strictly low emission 4 strokes.

Your boat is nothing to sneeze at and I would jump all over it in a heartbeat, but there is something to the look of the Bullets, I saw one awhile ago while we were heading away from Taylors Falls along 95 parked at some bar and I had to pull over and drool for a couple minutes. It was white and yellow and sharp as heck! If that is someone that posts here boat, I am really jealous!!

RR- I talked with that guy at chisago boat landing this summer. UNLESS there is more than one Like that with the same color scheme.
If your willing to drive up, I got a ride for you next summer.. you will LOVE the ride of the puma.. and I may know a spot or 2.. maybe. It may cost you a custom plastic or two though..!!! LOL!!!!
