What's the best way to get your money for selling a boat? Trying to make sure I don't get burned..Thanks!

If you mean the transfer of money, I vote ca$h.

If you mean best way to get most price from it, then that is easy... sell it in the spring when people want them

When purchasing my boat, the seller and I agreed to use a certified check and exchange money & title at a bank/notary. Keeps the transaction honest.

dont give the title to the people till the check clears, if there giving you a check!

Don't give them the boat either. Go to the bank with them and cash your check and then hand it over.

I think the best way to get the most out of the boat is to clean it up and make sure everything is working. Then make it as water ready as possible. Throw in a some life jackets, anchor, minnow bucket and even a couple of fishing rods if you have them. Don't misrepresent anything. If it does have a defect disclose it, and if possible, what it $$$ would take to get it fixed. Some good fishing stories helps too.

Cash or cashiers check.

My brother in-law got burned by a forged cashiers check on a car sale. He got the car back but it took time and some expense to do it. I would only trust cash or a bank to bank wire transfer.
