Where to fish with 35+ winds

We were going to go to either DL or Bemidji area tomorrow, but with winds at 20-30 and gusts 35-40 we were thinking of going somewhere like Beer's or Elk. Has anyone fished Elk lately, I was there a couple years ago a few times but never had any luck. Thanks.

Not sure where you got the estimate on wind speed for tomorrow but I only saw 10-15 with gusts to maybe 20 up there. We fished Mille Lacs with those winds in my 16 Alumacraft. Tough but manageable.

Yeah those forecast winds seem high. IF they do get that high find a lake that has a nice break near the calm shore So you can get out of the wind if need be. But with the forecast I'm seeing just about any lake should be manageable for a decent size boat.

There wasn't a breath of wind on Lake Bemidji today. The water was like glass, but the fishing wasn't good. It was a great day to be on the water in late November!

Saturday was not too bad in the morning, but the wind was kicking in our area by the afternoon.

My buddy did manage to pick up this 44 3/4 in the morning before the wind came up.

Hopefully one last time this Friday before the season closes.

At least you got a nice fish in the boat. I made it out Sunday with some friends and we saw a handful of fish but missed two opportunities.

The wind did get pretty crazy later in the day, I'm sure it was 25-30.

What types of winds did you guys see Saturday?

Fished the Grand Rapids area on Saturday and was faced with the same thing. Throughout the day I thought maybe it would die down towards evening but it just kept picking up speed. Then a guy sits and thinks about the nice calm day just the day before!

Nice fish... Still feels good to be in the boat thou!
