i think i'm just as excited to take my kiddos spearing as i am myself getting out. i think they'd have an absolute blast watching the "Lake TV Channel".

Yeppers.
Good family fun.
If they are little ones keep a life jacket on them and tie them off. You don't want them ending up down the hole when you are not looking.
Always be safe!!
Take a kid darkhouse spearing, it is an experience they will enjoy for a lifetime!!!

I started taking my son Ayden last year. He was 2 1/2 years old at the beginning of the season. I made sure to take lots of toys and snacks for him, to help keep him entertained. It's all about making sure they have fun and enjoy it. There's nothing better than a big frozen lake for flying a kite. It helps them pass the time on those slow days. I always took extra dry clothes for him to be sure he was always warm. I took him out in -25 weather quite often, and he never complained about the cold once, but I would still check his hands and feet throughout the day to be sure they were warm. Buy a bunch of those little disposable handwarmers, they are cheap and work well for keeping fingers and toes warm. Just my $.02. Best of luck.

can't beat spending time with the kids. it's amazing the things that seem somewhat trivial/mediocre to us sometimes that mean so much to kids and become memories for a lifetime.

this is what spearing is all about. its not about getting out there and seeing the most fish, or getting the most or whatever, but being able to take a kid spearing, and see what its all about. they dont care about getting anything, but the fact of seeing fish! Its something you can not even forget!
