Any of you river rats turn into pheasant slayers once it ices up??? Once the crop is all out I am going to concentrate on some roosters! Wondering if any of you pursue them and if you'd like to go sometime..

I would definetly be up for that but I don't have a dog. You hunt on the public land in Jordan?

Public and Private. I have a dog, just no truck to transport him in. I do not like a wet dog in my car

If the pheasant hunting gets any better, I will be hunting until the last day of the season. Another limit this morning in about 1 hour.

I got him a couple years ago down in the river bottoms with the ol trusty 12 gauge. I do not have the patience to sit in a stand and wait. I strictly stalk, I was out no more than 10 minutes before I snuck up on him bedded down with a doe.

A year before I stalked a doe and arrowed her after I got bored sitting in a stand for 30 mins.

As for pheasant hunting. I am down, you let me know when. I am headed out to SD Nov.4th and should be back around the 8th. Hopefully than the crops will be out. I plan on taking a couple trips down to south west MN. Perhaps we should get a group of these Kitty Catchers to all go down there and hit some public land!!

I can be your Pheasant guide, and pay you back for your river guidance!

Were you hitting private or public? The private ive hit has too much crop out. See birds but they are just running around me in the crops.

Me and Bear still trying for that first rooster, only been out three times. Going Thursday morning tough Nick if your interested. How do you pick between deer, duck, pheasant, muskie,walleye, work, and house chores? I think i gott'em in the right order.

You start by finding a good woman who does the house chores for you and makes a good chunk of change. Than you work as little as possible, and fish and hunt all fall & winter long

I think I fall into that exception as well. I got it made, except shes not my wife. But I get away with just about anything

Missed my only shot the other day, he jumped between my cousin and me so I couldn't shoot right away, then flew strait into the sun. I went blind and only saw a black dot so I tried and missed.
