Looks like temps are going to moderate and the wind is supposed to drop off Saturday night and Sunday. Haven't heard much banter on the trolling this fall. I was thinking about making a run up for a little full moon hawging this next week. Tough choices right now with the rut kicking into gear but it sure is fun when you can troll up those big piglets.

I couldn't make it out in October, but might be able to make it up this week. Looks like the weather may moderate a bit. My other option is to stay at home and finish raking leaves in my yard. Hmmmmm.

tunrevir,

how did it go last weekend? remember last year someone got a 30" late in the year? if things were different i would be taking my boat up there this weekend...next year. it looks like its going to be fantastic weather wise!

good luck to anyone going.

I didn't make it up as I used all of my free time sitting in the woods. Nearly payed off with a 10 pt but a stick changed my fate:( Now I am hoping this weekend, looks like perfect weather. I am surprised we aren't seeing more people posting about the fall troll like in the past. Either nobody is fishing or the bite is good and nobody is talking grin

I was up that way last weekend. There really wasn't anyone up there. For a full moon weekend I was very surprised. Pretty sure we saw less than ten boats while we were out last weekend. Went out on Saturday night and it was a perfect night for weather, the lake had to be close to glass. Started in one spot and got blanked for close to four hours. Decided to change a bit with the structure that we were fishing and had some success. They weren't jumping in the boat, but it's all about the time you spend on the water.

Fished the northwest and west side last night. One 18 incher. Fished from 9:30pm to 1:30am. We tried #5, and #7 Shad Raps, as well as Husky jerk-baits. Caught the lone walleye on the Husky Jerk in about 8 fow. Beautiful evening though.

nice try whippingpost! i applaud your effort. you never know, maybe they were pushed to the east side from the wind? somewhere on mille lacs people are getting into them and just not talking about it. now is the time to get that trophy!

We hit the water on Sat. 6:30 am, stayed close hopeing the rain would stop..Saw a few swirls in the Bay, Then hopeing to get out as the wind picked up we left for the Rocks, It was a bit challenging to say the least, 30 mph. wind, 38 deg. waves as big as five footers,,,Ended up trolling untill 1:00pm. No fish. Did'nt see much for bait fish on the rocks? Have we missed the spawn? or are they scattered all over the lake? Normaly the tullibes fill the graf..

Was out last Friday & tullibee were definately in the shallow rocks still. We saw many dead in the rocks, do some die after spawning? Either way, I've seen them in the shallow rocks since 11/1, when the water was 42 & last friday the water was 39 & there still doing there job. Musky activity seems to be limited to the last hour of daylight...

if things were different i would be fishing right up to not being able to get the boat in the water. now is definately a great time to get a trophy walleye and theres not much competition either.

Was out last saturday night. We didn't see a boat after 8 p.m. Boated two eyes and a pike within a hour of the sunset. We left the first spot and hit a couple more after 8. A long, lengthy , and cold pause after that. We decided to go back to the first spot at 10 or so. I think 8 were in the boat in about a hour. The weeds are really laying down fast from two weekends previous. The rocks may be producing more fish now. The november full moon produced 20 eyes in the boat on the weeds. The last outing was a 10 fish outing in the weeds. The full moon outing was a 7-9 foot outing. Last weekend seemed to be hottest in the 5-6 foot range.
