CJH......like was stated above, what good does a passer rating do? Its wins and losses! Both QB's are/were supposed to be so good, but haven't/didn't produce. He had a passer rating of like 157.something against the Browns, whoooopeeee!! IT IS THE BROWNS! He had the best passer rating on 3rd down in the NFL, that sure changed last week. Like I said.....a good quality QB, yes. Elite..NO WAY! However, I think that Rodgers is the least of their problems. Where was their run game on Sunday? 45 passes against 15 runs?

1. Aaron Rodgers, GNB 110.4
2. Peyton Manning, IND 109.3
3. Drew Brees, NO 107.6
4. Brett Favre, MIN 106
5. Donovan McNabb, PHI 103.2

What do you notice about this list? Rodgers has a losing record. So much for passer rating, eh?

First off, I said he has a chance to be elite, not that he is right now.

Second all of the QB's on your list above that are "winners" are all on much better TEAMS.

Third off, according to your argument, apparently Favre isn't winner, because he finished 9-7 in his second season starting. ARod is currently 4-3. So they are one pace for the same win/loss record. Guess Favre's not a winner.

There are 53 men on an NFL Roster, and 22 start not including special teams. No one man is responsible for a team's W/L. And yes, he's the least of their concerns. Favre is succeeding in MN because he has a great team around him, replaced their weakest link, and adds value to it.

You can believe what you want, the Favre haters turned lovers have no bounds!!!!! I am done.

We like Brett, we like Longwell and we liked Sharper too.

Heck, we'll probably like Rodgers too once he comes over to the same good team those three did laugh

If the packers had the vikes Offensive Line we would be undefeated and add about 10 more TDs to Rodgers total.

Enjoy Favre while he lasts.

He actually has smartened up some.

He doesn't even try to tackle the guys that intercept passes anymore.

Rodgers will be in the league 10 years after Favre retires if OUR dang offensive line doesn't get him killed.

OH......the bucs that we play on sunday....while Favre is on his bye week...are terrible on defense.

I see a 4-5 TD game for Rodgers if he can still walk after the butt kicking he got.

If Rodgers had AP instead of Grant the pay check collector he would have insane stats.

3 years away from kicking queens tale like years before.

If everything goes well queens should run the table in regular season.

Then they need that KILLER instinct that I believe they lack.

One and done in playoffs.

it just goes to show how good the packer organization is when not even half way through the season favre says the vikings are the best team he's ever played on....MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA MUAHAHAHAHAHA MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

it doesn't look like it will get much better as long as you have thompson either...they must of thought they had the division on lock when they didn't do anything in free agency....hey lets have the worse o-line in football with no running game when we have to play the vikings twice a year...WHO NEEDS TO BLOCK JARED ALLEN? Yeah, If the Pack had AP, and his offensive line, and the Vikings defense, and the Vikings receivers they would have a pretty fair team!

heck even if they had chilly!! atleast they would have a couple more good players!! people might question some of chilly's coaching but one thing he does do is goes out and gets some awesome players...seems he also keeps the team focused and we don't get distracted.

all the haters hoped favre coming here would cause a big distraction and a big media circus especially with him missing camp and coming in....we haven't missed a beat!!

I don't know about that. How has Jennings been doing lately compared to, say, Rice our second receiver?

this maybe next year and your Messiah will be gone and the queens will be back to mediocrity and packers will be wiping the field with them again. Enjoy it while Favre lasts.

I'll give the pack an edge in Dbacks, with a big edge when Winfield is sidelined. Our defensive line makes all the difference to the secondary though.

I'll take our duo of Rice/Harvin and the oft injured Berrian over the pack's receivers though. I've always liked Driver and Jennings is good.

Harvin is alive wire.

The best pick up in last year's draft.

Least you guys didn't pick any dline that you put on IR every year since his pick.

Yeah, there was a petition about firing TT when the Farve divorce was going on as well. The local and national media are all over the downfalls of GB management right now. For good reason, I might add. If Mark Murphy doesn't make the right decisions at the end of the year, he should be next. Bob Harlan wouldn't have tolerated any of this. As soon as Bob retired, TT pushed Brett out to make the team his own. I find it sad that after Farve, who played with 18 of the 22 starting players on this team, took the team to 1 play away from the super bowl. TT and MM got big, fat contract extensions after that season worth a collective of 16 million dollars. TT won some kind of national executive of the year award. They were riding off of Farve's leadership the entire way. Farve got them their contracts. Look at where they are now without the him and his leadership ability. They try to bribe him with $20 million to stay retired? Umm, Farve doesn't need money. The problem with TT is that he never gave Farve the respect he's earned from the collective Packer Nation through his 16 years of service. That was the problem Brett had. Ted was there for 3 years. If Farve wanted to wait to make the decision to retire or not, he was 38 at the time, he earned the right to decide when he's ready to decide. Now we are in this mess. Hopefully, Murphy will "get that cleaned up. The mistakes are correctable." (those are McCarthy's weekly quotes on what we have to do to play better). Murphy should set the example of what correcting mistakes and cleaning thing up are. We as Packer fans, just want to get excited about our team again. We were fortunate enough to be a perennial playoff caliber team for a very long time and that standard was set in stone. Since TT came to town we've been to the playoffs once. I find it hard to put trust and faith in Ted and McCarthy to build a strong football team that can make a run to the championship game.

A TT firing at the end of the year would be icing on the cake for Favre.

I agree with you Splakeshaker...Thompson never showed Favre the RESPECT HE EARNED and IMO, that's when all the waffling began.

Easy there fellas, as the saying goes it takes 2 to tango.

I don't think TT and MM handled the siuation as well as it could have been but it is what it is. If you want my honest opinion it was Favre himself who started the entire mess. When he was a Packer in his later years, he would go in and demand that TT go after certain players. Not suggest, but demand. How would that fly with any normal boss, me thinks not well.

Secondly, he was in the drivers seat for his decision to retire. He chose to do so and the Packers waited until June for him to change his mind. All he would have had to do would be to tell TT "I'm playing" and TT could NOT have done a thing about it unless his skills had diminished to being pathetic. Favre earned the right to make his decisions, but not to jerk the team and management around.

Let's not forget, Favre flourished in GB when the was surrounded by a veteran solid team on both sides of the ball. It's not different now that he's with the Vikes. Let's see if it's all roses when adversity hits OR next off season when guys are working their butt off and he's just throwing a few balls to some high school kids.

the day he rolled in to Green Bay I talked with my Packer friend that played in Ice Bowl and Super I & II and he told me TT was a stubborn egoistical nitwit. This was before he did anything. He warned me of a decade of mediocrity coming. He said it would give me more time to fish on sundays.

At the time, we only had one reciever with any solid experience in Donald Driver. Javon walker was on the outs. Fergie was hurt most of the time. If you could get Randy Moss for a 4th round pick, why wouldn't you? Brett just wanted to win. He was used to winning and after the dismal 8-8 season of the prior year he wanted viable talent to improve the team. Granted, they went 13-3 that year, I'll give ya that but who would have figured that at the time.

Originally Posted By: nolte

Plenty of jerking on both sides. TT and Farve had a cold relationship. If TT and MM acted at all excited to have Farve back on this team, He would be a Packer today.

Another undoing of TT. Sharper, Whale, Rivera, Longwell. Nobody in these positions are nearly as talented as what we had. We did have cap problems under Sherman but to replace everyone of these highly skilled vets with rookies isn't going get you the distance.

At age 40, I think it's best to not be working the heck out of your body from March to January. Wise thinking to get him in there towards the latter part of preseason games and keep him a bit fresher and heal up from the prior 18 seasons.

My bitterness towards TT has everything to do with him dismantling a perennial playoff caliber team and creating a team (as a whole) that lacks heart, emotion, discipline and leadership. We used to have genuine, tough and vocal leaders on the team that set the example for the young guys. Farve, White, Winters, Chumura, Butler, Freeman, Brooks, Sharper, Brown, Henderson, Edgar Bennet. The list goes on. We had a handful of these leadership guys on any given team from 1992 until Ted came. Every year it's less and less of this type of mentality from players. Farve was one of the last one's of that mentality. Now we're down to Woodson and Driver, both getting towards the end of their careers, and Kampman(sort-of). AR isn't much of a leader, I do think he'll get better at that with more experience. Not very often will an entire team buy into the leadership of 23-25 year old guys. Put some vets on the team that have been there and know the work ethic, toughness, discipline and heart it takes to be winners in this league. I'm sending my resume to 1265 Lombardi Ave. There should be a job opening coming in the not so distant future. wink

splakeshaker,

I had a response all written out but I erased it and I'm too lazy to do it again. In any case the essense of the reply was that this lack of veteran leadership doesn't squarely rest on Ted's shoulders. From 2001 to 2004 our drafts were awful. Sherman was at the helm for the last 3 while Wolf in it for 2001. We have exactly 3 players still on the team from those drafts. Wells, Barnett, and Kampman. And not many of the others are even on other NFL teams. That is why we have a big VOID of veteran leadership.

We have a pretty strong base of young solid players, we just have to see if they are going to step up or wallow in mediocrity.
