One corner of my garage has some cracked and damaged blocks. Any ideas how to repair this? Would some concrete mix and a patch job be enough?

I met with a concrete guy and he recommended replacing the blocks. I would like another opinion.

Anyone?

Call a place like Brock White or another masonry supplier. They have products that are designed to repair areas like this. They can give you a recomendation of a quick set product, that will work. Remember that a patch is always still a patch, and is never as good as the original.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from the home center quick crete type products. Get something that will work there.

A patch would be cosmetic.
That block in the corner looks like it has a water problem.
Always wet and then when it freezes it breaks apart little by little.

It does seem to be typically wet/damp in this corner.

Is the block replacement the answer then? Should I use some water-proof paint or sealant afterwards?

Thank you

Replace the block. It might go deeper than you think. Sealing it after a month would help. Most likely caused by saltwater from the cars in the winter.
