Anybody going out this weekend? Looks to be in the low 60's with stable temps leading up to saturday. Any predictions how that may affect fishing and fish locations?

I plan on making the last trip of the season this coming weekend. No deer hunting for me. I am hoping for one last decent outing. My last trip was a big fat zero! Will bring some medium size suckers with and try for some smallies. Weather will make it a great weekend to winterize the boat, wash-wax, stabil the gas and fog the cylinders,change the lower unit oil, pull out the starting battery, have to buy a new one, vacuum the carpet, pull out the tackle and then start the long countdown to ice out next spring. As far as a prediction for the weekend, I am going to finally get my 7

i'll definitely be getting out this weekend. Probably spend some time smallie fishin and going for a pig largemouth or two.

You weren't the only one that struggled. I only ended up with two in about 3.5 hours of fishing. They either had vacated the areas i found them in earlier or got really lock jawed. I did talk to another boat out there and he got 15 or so on cranks.

October was really inconsistent for a lot of people, probably due to the ridiculously unstable weather (one of the worst October's weatherwise in recorded history).

I'll try to get out Sunday, not sure what I'll target yet though. If it were bass I'd stick to my cabin's lake as the fish are very predictable there in the few weeks before ice up.

Fishin this in october has been awful. I've been skunked twice which never happens. Caught some big ones but its not like falls in the past.

Just talked to a guy today who did really well out there earlier this week using jig and minnow combination. Apparently he got a couple at 20"!!! I'll probably be out there some time this weekend tryin to relocate them.

What do you guys fish out of on the river? We launched a canoe at Edison Park, but the current is too swift in spots for the trolling motor.

I know a Riverpro is the way to go, but do you bring your bass boats out there?

I am going to bring a 16' alum boat.

I will be in a deer stand Cecil, my buddy is out on the river right now and caught some nice ones, he's stopping over in a few... I was out there a little while ago and the water has risen quit a bit from not too long ago... He said it's up to the point where you better have either a boat or waders...

For the guys that are going out, what do you think would be best to use. Shaky heads worms, and jigs ?

You can get a few on just about anything. My best luck this time of the year is matching YotY forage, so small cranks. I've also had luck mimicking small bullheads with size 4 mepps black furies. Move these baits a little slower than your summer presentations. I've also caught them trolling muskie sized crankbaits so who knows what they want, just put something in front of them.

Mepps black furies are inline spinners, right ? I might have to pick some up today and try them out! I will be going out today once the temp gets a little higher, because I wont get a chance on the weekend, due to stupid work lol. I think I will also throw jigs, tubes, and cranks! I hope I do good because this is the last time ill be going out this season, thanks to stupid winter lol.

the lakes have been terrible by me. fish not relating to what they usually are this time of year for me. tues only caught 5 bass in 8-9 hrs between the two of us.
