My dad and I have a black Lund Rebel SS XL and it is hard to keep clean and does show scratches/rock chips easily. I'm wishing we would have went with red instead.

I've thought about this several times and I've decided on black. The reason being that there are a lot of black boats out there and it would make it harder to distinguish which one is mine from a distance. I like keeping my spots to myself.

I would go with Pink. They are easy to find in the morning when you get down to the harbor.

Lund Red, White, and Alumacraft Blue are my favorites. My boat is red and I don't have any regrets.

Also I used to like some of the dark green boat exteriors, just didn't care for green interior. Black is too hard to keep clean (my black truck is dirty even after I wash it).

What color is your hair? What color are your fingernails? Does your tackle box match your purse? Are you kidding me?

Stay away from white, especially on the gunnels and inside. In the bright sunlight it is very harsh on the eyes, even wiith polarized sunglasses, and adds to fatigue.

I'm guessing you would care about the color of a boat if you were in the market for something new as well. The guy is asking for advice, not to be ridiculed. Nobody needs a negative nancy around here.

I would consider something other than white as well. If you fish murky or stained water, keeping the water lines off of white is a losing battle. Good luck in your choice. I'd love to hear what you end up deciding on after the number of responses on this thread.

thanks for all the advice, ended up signing the deal on a 2010 almumacraft trophy 175 in white, suzuki df 140, 70lb ap/us with copilot, full top set, bow pads (for the wife), few other goodies, more than happy with the deal we were able to work out, really is a good time of year to buy if you are in the market. ended up making the final call by looking at a bunch of used boats just to see how the paint looked after a few years, have to say new i think black looks the best on the showroom floor but after a few years of use the white/blue in general looked a bit better. obviously it's a function of how it's taken care of but based on the used ones we were able to look at the white generally seamed to show a bit less for rock chips and dock rash.

thanks again
