Any reports? I am headed down friday and can't wait!

I was down in NW Iowa on Public Land and it was not good. I am hoping it's due to the crops still in but flushed 2 birds Sun-Mon after an ok Saturday.

Tough sleddin'...numbers down a bit, but tons of corn out there yet. It'll be a couple of weeks before our best hunting.

Hit and miss for me. Had my best day hunting ever on Sunday. 3 shots 3 birds by 10 AM. If anybody else could shoot we would have limited out sooner and I wouldn't have even had an opportunity to shoot any.

BUT

Saturday and Monday saw very few birds and never even brought the gun up.

WIll be better in 2-3 weeks as they dry up and get the corn out.

HaHa...the one near the middle looks like he's trying to make a break for it. Nice group of birds for as much corn is out there...congrats.

Thanks NWBuck. All but one were first year birds.

I think we got lucky as I found out more info. A tiny bit of corn had been picked nearby and some guys got to that field in the early AM to hunt Geese. I think they pushed some of those roosters back into the grass as they tromped in the corn in the early AM before Pheasant shooting hours. Otherwise I have no idea why so many birds were in the grass with all of that corn around.

Sometimes it pays to be lucky and hit a spot at the exact right moment
