We're thinking of spending a little time up that way this summer just northeast of DL. Does anyone know anything about that lake?

I've never fished it, but have been invited on the pontoon more than once. Very nice lake. There is decent fishing to be had as well from what I hear.

Quality bait in DL had rainbows last weekend, but I don't think they had red tails.

I had a friend out there last week casting shad raps and jigs and minnows along the east side. The point on the north east side of the lake produced a few eaters and one crappie. He had the best luck in 8-12 fow right before dark, so I'd go deep in the middle of the day and of course work your way shallower in the evening good luck.

Just returned from a beautiful day on the lake..fishing was awsome..released two over 25, we kept a limit of nice 19" fish(two were 22 and 23), as this is my last trip for this fall..(busted my tranducer off while landing the boat)..all fish were caught on 3/8 oz jigs with redtails and rainbows..depth was between 27' and 30', with 27 being the most productive..we were using large redtails and a lot of fish were just holding on and became unzipped.. Reason for keeping the limit is we are having a fish fry tomorrow night with friends.. If I knew how to post pics, I would post.. Steve

I've always wanted to hit that lake, I need to do it soon. Nice day on the water, and next time you don't need to justify why you kept a limit, you are entitled to do so if you wish.

Well Croiky, where is Strawberry Lake located? Is this close to Fargo as well? Sorry for the questions, I've lived in Fargo for 6 years now but I still don't know very much about the local area fishing other than devils Lake!

It's NE of DL, up in Leechbaits neck of the woods. About 30 minutes from DL.

Always wanted to hit Strawberry but with north winds launching there was tough..... Always ended up on Cotton but the launch there is shallow. Similar lakes in terms of depth and clarity but Strawberry has the smallies. Fished Jack Haw to the north that feeds the berry but Jack Haw is shallow and froze out. Any of the out of the way Reservation or National Forest lakes are incredible like fishing was meant to be. Loved to go back into the Tamarack National Forest even if it meant pulling the boat around just site seeing. In my opinion its gods country, you seem to miss all the recreational boating out there. Great place for sportsmen lets keep it that way fishing community. Gonna head up that way with a buddy to check nets soon. Will post opinions. Respected, trusted and well protected folks.

Yeah Ten four, I have some places in mind and it doesnt sound like much has changed as to how to fish em. Been fishing LOTwoods mostly in the winters, bounce around too much in the summers to really get to know any ONE lake very well. Think I need to start fishing the same couple lakes and learn them instead of moving so much. I fish up in your neck of the woods once and a while LEACHBAIT, Bros cabin on strawberry.
