[Note from admin: Edited. Please read forum policy and respond according to directions given there. Thanks much.] ust do your paperwork at the sportinggoods counter like normal.... had to do this with the last one i bought. IMO just go to the farm store with the giant silo! they have good deals as well!

WalMart guns are not the same. I know several gun dealers that won't take a gun on trade if it came from Wal Mart. Like most things they sell they aren't the same as the stuff you would buy at a regular store. My TV came from there and the modle # is Wal Mart exclusive, same TV at the TV store has a different number on it and cost $300 more.

Not sure about shotguns, but Walmart uses cheaper internal components for their line of "namebrand" electronics. So a Sony TV from WM isn't the same as one from Best Buy. That's why they can sell them cheaper.

Walmart does private labels many of their products AND they have manufacturers make products specifically for them. The Sony TV example is a good one. However goods that are made specifically for Walmart are given unique model and product numbers.
If you buy a Remington 870 Wingmaster from Walmart, its the exact same Remington Wingmaster you can buy at GM or any other store. If you buy a Remington pump shotgun that looks like an 870 but has a different name AND model number it is most likely an inferior product.

I think it has more to do with boycotting walmart, IMO... Unless you have hard facts to back up your statements I would say have at 'er. Bemidji Wally world sells rifles and shotguns. Yea, it would be hard to believe these gun manufacturer's with there regard to there reputation would put a product out there that is inferior. I can see electronics and such but not guns.

The guns you purchase at Wal-mart. Are the same guns you would purchase at a gun shop or other retailer.
A gun is a gun. remington does not switch to cheaper parts for a "walmart" line of the 870 express....
we are talking metal and wood. Not rocket science or electronics.
I often wonder ....

Wouldn't suprise me if it's the same as Sears, Sears makes nothing but sells appliances and who knows what else under their name, that washer that has the Kenmore name more than likely was made by Whirlpool, with sears you can tell by the first three numbers in the model.

Do you know this for a fact or are you just speculating? Is there a difference between an 870 Express and an 870 Wingmaster? Sorry, but it isn't just metal and wood IMO.
Everybody is entitled to their own set of opinions, but not everybody is entitled to their own set of facts.

Yes there is a diffferance in an 870 express and a wingmaster. I happen to be a wingmaster man and own several. Both expresses and wingmasters The express has stamped parts and the wingmaster does not. Also the wingmaster has the high finish and the express has the matt finish. Both on the steel and the wood. As far as shooting they shoot the same. If you are going out in the field and crossing barb wire fences, briar bushes, I would use the express. At the range use the wingmaster. Lastly I one in a nickel finish. Looks good but has never been shot! As far as Walmart goes they are the same guns made by the same manufacturer. I bought a BPS 10 ga. in Brookings SD at the Walmart while on my way going goose hunting 10 years ago and have never had a problem with it.

+1 for pumpintheline and yep.. both are made of wood and metal... perhaps some plastic mixed in A gun is a gun. Plain and simple. and yes. I do know for CERTAIN that there is no such thing as a "walmart" line of firearms. wouldnt shock me to see it in the future though...
