That is what I thought at first, but why would a 51" be on the news, especially out of Mille Lacs?

My wife called me about this morning one of the DJ's on the K102 morning show was talking it up. She said her cousin caught it, his name is Garrett from Int Falls, MN.
I suppose anything is possible (look at the size of the Shaq)but a 61" is way out there for sure, especially when nothing even close to that has been seen in recent years if even ever before. Leave the Spray fish out of this - we don't want to go down that road - real or false...

Well it's sounding like this could be real. I seen an email exchange on another board with the DJ that spilled the beans and apparently a popular muskie mag has bought the story, and mum is the word until they are ready to release pics and the story.
only time will tell now.

No kidding everyone and their brother will be out there looking for 60" fish... Because as we all know fish of that caliber are stacked in all MN lakes. Just we minnesotans don't talk about it.

I can honestly say that I have never raised a fish that looked over 54"-55". I know of 2 57"ers caught in MN over the past 15 years but 62"? What kind of girth would that have to have in order to hit 54lbs? If this fish has normal girth it should run about 40lbs... It still needs 27" girth to hit the magic number. Anythings possible and I hope it came out of a metro lake and it could have come out of a river..

She will live to see 62" and it wasn't on Mille Lacs. Just did the interview with Musky Hunter yesterday and it'll be out on their site pretty soon...I had a hard time keeping it under wraps this long but I'm glad I can finally share the story and photos!

It will be very interesting to see these pics and hear the story. Wonder if we'll really find out what lake? If it was in MN I'd bet Vermilion (60in range fish are seen enough to know they are there), LOTW - its possible for sure, or a real sleeper could be Rainy Lake. Not to let a secret out of the bag for some in the know but that one really wouldn't surprise me, as population density may not be great, but what a lake to grow a freakish muskie on. And easier to keep it quiet long enough. And its in the fishermans backyard if I read the previous posts right. Wow, the wild speculation, MH better get this out soon if thats who we are all waiting on now.
