My friend works for a jersey shop and the corp manager sent out an email stating that they will be getting their first shipments soon.

I know we have a few headcases on the Vikes, ala Percy... What makes him a headcase...the fact that he smokes a little weed? Sorry for the delayed response; I was out weeding my garden. I am not going to begrudge a fellow his bad habit, or two; but to knowingly lite up before a [PoorWordUsage] test @ the draft combine isnt too brilliant a move that cost him millions in Zig-Zags. Hey maybe we should be thanking him for lighting up, because if he didnt get caught smoking the Vikings would not have had any chance of drafting him at 21 spot.

NFL Network's Mike Lombardi reports that he's "been hearing talk" that Tarvaris Jackson might request a trade if and when the Vikings sign Brett Favre. Jackson, 26, has fairly respectable career stats (20:18 TDs to INTs, 58.4% completions, 10-9 record) but no one is going to look at him as a potential starter for this year. Experienced only in a West Coast offense, Jackson could appeal to St. Louis, Seattle, and perhaps Washington. Quarterbacks come at a premium, but it's hard to imagine Jackson even attracting a mid-to-late round pick at this stage of the offseason. Jul. 13 - 7:38 pm et

Vikings WR Sidney Rice picked up some pointers from Cris Carter while working out at the University of Minnesota. Rice was there with Larry Fitzgerald, DeAngelo Hall and Greg Jennings among others. His knee sounds 100 percent and working out with these studs can only help him as he competes with rookie Percy Harvin for the starting flanker job.
I like Sidney, if he can stay healthy, I think he will be a big play maker for the Vikes this year. Unfortunately, if he gets injured again, I think the Vikes will cut ties and move on.

poor junkson...i find it hard to believe he'd ask to be traded just to be a backup on a different team...if he left the picture it would be one of the biggest moves the vikes can do for the future....i wouldn't mind if he stayed to be a back up but i'll be pretty happy to see him leave..i'd never have to see him put on purple ever again!! this rules lol.
just like i said slowhand....cheech harvin purposly failed the drug test at the combine so he wouldn't have to go play for them other piehole teams...he puffs a little herb and slips to a solid team....the real money comes when they resign.

He's hoping to get traded because it would be better than being cut or released which is his other option here. It would be a big step in the right direction for the Vikes either way.

If they can trade him for a stale bag of chips they should take it.

If they can trade him for a stale bag of chips they should take it. I agree, but his value is only at the "already chewed stick of gum" level. It will be interesting to see if they keep him or JDB as #3.

NFL.com's Steve Wyche reports that the Vikings are close to finalizing a multi-year extension with contract-year CB Antoine Winfield. Winfield's agent, Ashanti Webb (no relation to the R&B singer), is in the Twin Cities currently to wrap up the terms. There are still some loose strings, but Wyche says "the final points aren't deemed deal-breakers." Winfield is 32, so the Vikings probably aren't going to go too long on his extension without protecting themselves with some "dummy" years on the back end. Source: NFL.com

That Steve Wyche is on NFL Network and does a real good job of interviewing players/front office personnel, and conveying to the public. I dont think those two are related though.

Vikings signed CB Antoine Winfield to a new five-year, $36 million contract. The deal includes $16.1 million in guarantees. Winfield, 32, is no sure bet to play out this deal, but he's coming off a long deserved Pro Bowl berth and is easily the Vikes' top corner. They had to pay the man. Winfield is such a good tackler that he could move to safety later in his career if Cedric Griffin and Asher Allen develop as hoped. This year, Winfield will continue to shadow opposing top wideouts. Opponents may begin throwing away from him with Griffin a bigger liability on the other side. Source: Minneapolis Star-Tribune

John David Booty reportedly outperformed Sage Rosenfels during Organized Team Activities and minicamps. Booty has a year in Darrell Bevell's offense and Rosenfels was acquired this offseason, so this isn't all that surprising. It definitely does not mean J.D. would be a better bet in a game. Rosenfels has a stronger arm and way more experience. It's not a big concern if he struggled in shorts and shells. Source: Ross Tucker on Twitter Related: Sage Rosenfels

Glad to have Winfield here for the rest of his career. He's a great player.
