Any one go out yesterday? Hope to make a run this weekend with the boys.

I didn't get in on a single bear chase last year - used to do a lot of it, both up north and east of Eau Claire. Gonna have to call up the crew and head out soon.

Is the bear hound training season open?
I thought Wisconsin didn't allow running them till August

didnt make it this weekend, wife had other plans oh well she is a happy camper so the future looks good starts july 1st till end of august.

Heard them running the last few mornings while fishing Yellow Lake.

Heard 4 hounds have been killed by wolves thus far. A couple were east of Eau Claire where some guys I know hunt.

I heard that bear numbers are up.
Didn't draw this year.
Want to put a Zwickey or a Bear Razorhead into one soon with the recurve

I should draw next year, probably could have this year but just went with the point. Should have 7 now. I think bear numbers are up overall mainly because of their expansion southward. More tags mostly because the DNR realized their previous pop estimates were way low - not necessarily because of an actual increase in numbers.
A bit off subject but I believe they just about doubled the pop estimate - the either weren't or now aren't even close. Must be the same guys doing the deer pop estimates...

Not a good year so far for the dogs v.s wolves 4 kia's and 5 injured. 2 kia have been in clark county. Looks like a bumper crop of wolf pups this year.
