I almost forgot to give my report.
I made a spontaneous trip out to Fish Lake on Monday. It was a great day to be on the water. Mid 70's, a nice breeze and plenty of sun.
We were not able to hit the lake during the prime time hours but it was still an ok day. We found some nice eater walleye in 10-11 feet of water. If you went shallower then that you got the
perch and rock bass. If you went deeper then that you didn't catch anything.
We found the fish on the wind blown shorelines and on the windy side of the points.
All the fish came while trolling. We tried leeches on a spinner, and some crank baits but in the end all of the fish were caught on black beetle spins with the exception of a few
perch caught while pulling the leeches.
The fishing was not fast and furious during the middle of the day you really had to work for them and move around a lot but we found enough walleye for dinner. If we were able to stay on the water until prime time I'm sure the fishing would have picked up a little.
