If I was you I would try maple or another small shallow lake. You might find them from shore on union but it will probably be tough. They are biting on other lakes though if you look for them. Shallow muddy bays are the first place to look.

Thanks, I appreciate your help. The only reason I'm asking is because I have a cabin on Union and am going tomorrow.

No, I'm talking about the avian variety this time, there was a pretty good flock of them and cormerants moving around, they had the backwater bays pretty well covered here a few days ago.

I was out there this weekend of fourth of July and caught quite a bit I caught a couple of northerns none over 30 also caught some bass just smaller sized ones and last carp there are so Many carp in there I caught 12 of them right off the dock and all were avg 10-13 lbs so they put up a big fight on my walleye rod. Did also see alot of people fishing there more than ever and actually catching alot of northerns and bass. And finally whille I was waiting to see carp swim under the dock I was surprised to see walleye swimming there white tip on there tail really showed up In the watter. So jw? Has anyone been having any luck out there?

Sounds like you had fun out there this weekend, I was one of the pleasure boaters out there in the early afternoon on Saturday and I saw quiet a few people fishing too, I usually don't fish out there on the busy weekends, although I haven't made it out there at all yet this year.

A buddy of mine was out fishing during the week prior and some on the weekend too but he only caught a handful of Walleye, one over 20 inches I guess and a couple eaters and a really small one, that's what I heard anyway.

Usually, when you see the walleye in shallow like you did there, he's looking for something to eat, I've seen that before and the active ones are not too far away.

Thanks for the report.

Mike
