walleye, I was in one a while back, very nice deal! The ride is smoother then any of the old bombers up on LOW's. Planty of go anywhere power, not as fast or noisy as some of the V-8 bombers, which means that you just wouldn't go smashing into pressure ridges as fast as them!! wink But they are very cool, rigs! They sit right down on the ice when fishing, and then back up when your done. They are a bit spendy for the avg, Joe, like me! frown But they are a very neat ride! cool

i've never been in one for a ride, but they were on display at the Ice Show and checked them out. Would be pretty sweet to have one. Another one to look into would be the Wilcraft.

W.F. I am half way into my second season with mine and I love it! Put on just over 1200 miles on LOW with her last year and I'm sitting at about 400 so far since Dec.10th of this year. Not enough time or writing space here to explain everything I love about it! grin If your interested, I would be more than happy to put you in touch with someone to set up a test drive on one!

I'm 5'6 and I can't quite stand up all the way, however the new 2009 models have a 4" drop in the center of the floor which adds some more headroom. I was in one a while back and I could stand up in that one...it was kind of wierd for me though, I have myself trained to hunch over when I walk around in there so I found myself watching my head in the new one even though I had enough head room. grin

Fuel range is around 85-90 miles on a tank give or take depending on the conditions and how hard you drive. This is with the old engine. (3 cyl Daihatsu carb. model) Not sure how the new ones are doing yet. The new 09's have a new Zenith 4 cylinder fuel injected engine. The batteries are charged through the alternator when the engine is running so if the battery runs low you can start up the motor and charge them up.(There's also an on board charger to charge the batteries at the end of the day providing you have access to power.) You can normally run a full day on the ice without any problems with the deep cyle battery running low. There is a deep cycle battery for everything in the cabin and a starting battery that is strictly for starting the engine. The cabin does not draw off of that battery. The heater is a forced air RV furnace. You can either run a 20lb. tank or a 30lb. I run a 30lb. tank and can run about 90hrs. or better on a tank again depending on how high you have the thermostat set and the conditions outside.

Like Nama, I am half way through my second season also and LOVE IT!! I put around 900 miles on mine last season and I am sure it will be more than that this season. I have no real complaints at all! You are extrememly mobile with these rigs and once you have fished in one, well, let's just say I wasn't sold on them until I went out fishing in one for a day--I was sold within the first hour I was in one. It's just plain a sweet rig! My wife doesn't really like to be out in the cold and she hasn't been in the SnoBear hardly at all besides going out to the fish houses. Well, we went for a ride a few weeks ago and now she even fell in love with it and now she want's to take a day off on Monday and go fishing! Honestly, she was very skeptical when we purchased it but now she admits that she knows why now!

Lake of the Woods Marine is selling them now I understand and the average cost for one is around 40K. I would rather have a new "Sporty" but thats just me.
