Nice fish Nate. I had a friend that was over there and did pretty well today to. I wish i could get back over soon. But im heading over to the Fox River and Green Bay later this week! Guess i can't complain.
The bite on pool 4 should ramp up towards fantastic as the next 2 weeks roll along.

Fished all day sunday at the dam, mostly on the lock side. Fishing was pretty much NON existant. Not to many boats were catching anything. We saw one boat get 2 keepers and they were probably doing better then anyone else. We had one 15 inch sauger on the day and that was it. Tons of debris and ice coming down the river. We fished from 8 in the morning till three in the afternoon and it was BY FAR the worst day ive ever had at the dam. We were seeing schools of what were probably sauger come through pretty steady on the depth finder, but they sure werent biting. We got the lone keeper when one of these schools came through in the morning. The river didnt come up any that we could tell the whole day though... if she stays steady for a week, the fishing will get back to normal hopefully. But id be willing to bet it'll be awefully slow for a couple more days. good luck

Not sure if i saw you guys or not... Saw a lot of people. We were in an older white alumacraft. Didnt see many people catching anything. They seemed to be having a little better luck on the other side of the lock but looked like mostly throw backs to me, and few and far between at that. You guyz must have been on em':')

Report 03-22-10 The Mississippi River is about to crest next Thursday and should rise another foot between here and now. The river is surprisingly clean and better clarity than you would imagine for being as high as it is. Getting you boat in the water, with flooded parking lots and high water can be a challenge. If you manage to make it on the water the fish are biting on plastics, minnows, and trolled stickbait crankbaits. Eaters are being taken in the vertical jig style in areas with less flow in 10 to 20 fow. Some larger fish are being caught in the flooded trees on plastics in 1 to 4 fow, this is a challenging effort, but can be rewarded with a fish of a lifetime. Best jig colors have had heads of orange or gold for minnow anglers. Plus orange core colored ringworms, gold paddle tails. Water flow at Red Wing Dam 81,900 CFS Water temp 36.5 and Stage is 11.72 going to 13.4. Turk

ya, a buddy and I limited out in about an hour and a half on saugers saturday using green jig heads and minnows...I started using a white jig head with a bit of a chartrouse plastic cut off and stuck above the minnow, only caught two on it while my buddy using green caught about 6, I then switched to green and hammered em too.
