Went out on Saturday 8-10am and 4-6pm, had 7-8 inches of ice on the northern arm. Tried 7' thru 15' and could only get perch to bite. Heard later maybe the walleyes were around 20'.

I saw the two of you out there fighting the winds. Also saw the guy move that big two piece house out by you. There still hasn't been anyone out there that I have seen. I think the fishing should get better now that we have some snow cover on the ice. Are you the father or the son?

I'm the son. Don't think pops knows how to turn on the computer. I've met the owner of the two piece house last year and he is good people, I think he didn't realize what had happened, not a big deal. Just wondering if ice ridge growing at all, wanted to head out onto unchartered winter waters for me. I would rather locate fish in different areas than sit in one spot with no options.

Didn't get out there today, my other half wanted to do some shopping. We got some fresh snow today and from what I could see from my house there was a stretch of the ice ridge that looked a little dark between the fish house that was moved out there and Battle Point. Closer to the fish house. Looked like the fresh snow may have been getting a little wet. The rest looked ok. There have been people driving over it on the west side with ATV's.

How much ice is on Osakis after the cold front just came through?

I was out sat. and there was about 10 to 11 inchs, was out on Bowers. didnt catch a thing but had fun .a coupl of bites.

it is fun to read about Osakis had to move to Iowa for work hope to get back there over christmas save some Perch for me

any more updates on teh ice conditions? or crappie or walleye bite? not lookinf for spots just seeing if they are on at all.

I will most likely be up there next week some time i hope the bite picks up.

Was on the north end second week in December and caught 4 nice eyes. One dandy 25"! Pulled them all through a 3 and 1/2 inch hole

Am planning on being on Osakis new years week, how easy is it to move around the two north bays (1/2 ton PU)?

Bring a shovel in case you get stuck!
Lot of drifts and slush after opening holes!
My brother had to have a road plowed to his house yesterday on the north end.

Lot of slush spots showing up today. I think the weight of all the snow we have is starting to show. Need a good 4x4 if you venture off the well traveled or plowed paths. And yes, a shovel is a must have.
