You,.......

And everyone else.

The preasure last year was unreal. The fact that there is a single crappie in that lake after last winter is a supprise in and of itself.

Sorry to hear about your break in. That is the risk with putting out a permanent.

I will probly put the permanent on west rush again. I have been broken into 2-3 times in the last 10 years, the thing that ticks me off is I leave nothing to steal and it is a hastle to fix the door everytime. Every year I tell myself that it is not worth putting it out but every year I do. With the amount of preasure that lake has the fish size has dropped drastically in the last 5 - 10 years. Some days maybe 1 out of 20 crappies are "Keepers" in my eyes. I have been fishing a few "better" lakes in the area and I might not be on rush very much this winter and I won't miss the traffic.

That's a thing you have to live with on Rush lake. Your bound to get broke into with all the "clowns" that are snowmobiling, wheeling, drinking, and some even fishing. I grew up on Rush, but consider it a "city" lake now and don't fish it because of the crowds.

My family has a cabin on East Rush that has been in the family for a long time. I love fishing this lake but I agree the size has gone done with the fish. Talking with the family they say the fishing pressure has come in cycles over the years. I think in a few years the pressure will come down because the fish size just wont be there any more. But once those fish have a few years to grow every one will be back. I have no problem with all of these people what I have a problem with is the way they treat the lake. Last winter when I was on East there was so much trash and fish laying on the ice it made me sick. I just dont understand it, if you go fishing and catch 4 crappies take them home dont just leave them on the ice. Ever year when we put the dock in we have to spend an hour picking up the trash on shore from the ice fishing season. Back to the topic, I plan on fishing Rush more this winter. I tend to stay away from West because of the crowds, I feel that East can produce just as much as West. Good luck to all on the fast coming hardwater season and be safe.

i fish rush alot during the ice season and open water season cause i have a place on it and if you stay away from the crowds you will find fish still or just the outer circles of the crowds will do fine still

I live real close to West, I have learned over the years that I just leave the door to my house un-locked. I don't leave anything in it at all. Most times nothing happens, but I have had clowns that must have gotten mad cause there was nothing to steal, so they used it as a restroom....if you catch my drift.

Your damned if ya do and damned if ya don't.

I'll be putting mine back out, but I stay away from the crowds.
